05/07 → 28/07/2012 / Kemistry Gallery, London
The sunny optimism of Brazil’s burgeoning design scene is displayed at Kemistry Gallery as a large-scale text installation inspired by the vernacular typography of Saõ Paulo, the result of a course led by Anthony Burrill and organized by Mesa&Cadeira, wherein 12 Brazilian designers, writers and art directors produced a collection of phrases that best expressed their world view. An edition of posters will be on sale; the exhibition programme includes a seminar on 12 July when Anthony Burrill, Francesca Wade and Barbara Soalheiro (from Mesa&Cadeira), will discuss the philosophy and process covered in the workshop, and their experiences in São Paulo.
