Web typography gets its own conference this summer with Ampersand, a one-day event in Brighton on the 17th June that explores the overlaps between web design, typography and software. Organised by user experience consultancy Clearleft, the conference promises to be an affordable opportunity for experts in a variety of related fields to get together and talk web type in the majestic surroundings of the recently-restored Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.

The line-up’s sure to tempt web designers and type nuts alike; speakers include Jonathan Hoefler of Hoefler & Frere-Jones, Mark Porter, and even Vincent Connare – designer of the much-maligned Comic Sans. Tickets are priced at £125, or £65 for students. Get yours here .
