D&AD 50th Year Awards
Now in its 50th year, D&AD is once again calling for the very best in communication design, digital and creative advertising. Projects should have been released commercially between 1st January and 31st of December 2011. This year, in addition to the yellow pencil, there will be a new White Pencil awarded to social design projects. The white pencil aims to reward projects with the potential to change the world, or at least nudge people into behaving more ethically. The professional category covers the full range of disciplines from digital advertising and branding to typography and illustration. The student category invites students to respond to a creative brief, allowing young talents to showcase their creativity in a wide range of real world situations. Make Your Mark is an open brief, giving recent graduates, or anyone under 26, the chance to make their first big impact, and show the design world the best they can do. D&AD have also released a special teaser video for their half-century Awards.
