Daniel Blau Gallery: Photographer’s Own
A Parisian apple vendor standing beside his wooden cart while a customer looks over the baskets; a clock’s blurred hand on the wall of a Florentine palazzo; a ruined tower… How precious are the vanished minutes captured and preserved in the earliest days of photography.
Unique paper negatives from the 1850s will be displayed at Daniel Blau from 17th February. This new space for photography opened in April last year and its exhibitions have been remarkable for their beauty and curatorial intelligence. Photographer’s Own is a chance to see haunting original works by such masters as Le Secq, Nègre, de Beaucorps and de Clercq.
