Machinarium
An endearing tale of the little robot who could, Machinarium is a point-and-click adventure filled with gorgeous hand-crafted scenes, head-scratching puzzles and plenty of heart-warming humour. Josef the robot may have been thrown on the scrapheap and left to rust, but that doesn’t deter him, and he simply gets back up and heads off to the big city to seek his fortune.
It’s here that he stumbles on a sinister plot to blow up the metallic town, and must take the bullies head on to keep all his new friends safe. Players search every nook and cranny to find items that will help Josef on his quest, while solving intriguingly clever puzzles every step of the way. Machinarium has been injected with a heavy dose of personality, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with our chrome-plated hero and his wonderfully-crafted world.
Machinarium is not just one of the most beautiful indie games to date – it’s one of the most beautiful games, period. You can pick it up for PC and Mac, and there’s also Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 versions on the way too.
