French Design Crosses the Atlantic
Until March 26, the Wolfsonian in Miami is hosting an exhibition devoted to industrial design of the twentieth century. The exhibit explores French cultural identity, reviewing the evolution of design with regard to political, economic and cultural contexts. More than 150 objects have been gathered for the occasion, including work by Roger Tallon, Pierre Paulin, Philippe Starck and the Bouroullec brothers. The curator, Marianne Lamonaca, is entrusting Matali Crasset, M/M studio and Alexandra Midal with set design. They are collaboratively developing a system of islets arranged according to tricolored component parts.
