Holes in the pavement make the world seem worn out and precarious. We trip over them, or try to ignore them, but who would think of beautifying them? The Pothole Gardener does just that, laying patches of moss or grass over the street depressions and planting them with flowers and little miniature objects.

His short film Holes of Happiness shows him at work in East London arranging tiny recreation spots, just the right size for urban fairies, and recording the public’s reaction.
