Picture Perfect
Graphic designer Anthony Harding, the brainchild behind Australian online gallery Print-A-Porter has recently sourced a new collection of vintage Cuban film posters. The series of graphic prints are silkscreen reproductions from original posters inspired by films from the 1950’s and 60’s. Without the marketing constraints the American films had in their own country, the Cuban designers were free to create their own interpretations of the films within their posters. The results are clever, bold images that combine simple but distinctive typography with playfully interpreted characters, and the prints include titles such as The Three Musketeers, The Gymnast and Charlie Chaplin.
Print-A-Porter also features original film posters and vintage prints, ranging from the 1950’s to 1980’s.
