Yayoi Kusama At Tate Modern
Japanese painter and contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama, now in her ninth decade, will be exhibiting her work at the Tate Modern from February 9th. This will be the largest exhibition of Kusama’s work ever held in the UK. Famous in the Western world since the 1960s for her hallucinatory polka dot surfaces and complex mirrored installations, she has continued to be immensely productive, devoting her entire life to her art. She is particularly admired for her immersive installations, communicating the obsessive and boundaryless nature of her inner life. For both the first-time viewer and the long-time admirer this should prove to be an essential experience.
